On November 8, the first batch of power generation units of the 180-megawatt offshore photovoltaic power station project in Xingchen, Dongshan, China Three Gorges Corporation were connected to the grid. It is the first offshore photovoltaic project in Fujian Province and the first offshore photovoltaic project in the country built in a high-wind-speed sea area.
It is understood that the project is located in the sea area of Xingchen Town and Qianlou Town in Dongshan County, with a total investment of over 1.1 billion yuan, a site area of about 3,048 acres, and a total installed capacity of 180 megawatts. It is a typhoon-resistant offshore photovoltaic project. The average sunshine time in the area where the Dongshan offshore photovoltaic project is located is 2,204 hours for many years, with rich solar energy resources, an average annual wind speed of 5.2 meters per second, and a maximum wind speed of 48 meters per second. The surrounding natural conditions such as wind, surge, and current are poor, and the navigation environment is complex. In addition, the project also has a 110 kV onshore booster station and an 18 MW/36 MWh energy storage system, which can save 90,200 tons of standard coal each year. It will help the local area adjust its energy structure, improve its power supply security and guarantee capabilities, and explore the road of saving and intensive utilization of marine resources. At present, the construction progress of the project has reached 70%, and the first batch of equipment that has been completed has been connected to the grid for power generation, and it is expected to achieve full capacity grid connection by the end of this year. The Dongshan Offshore Photovoltaic Project also pioneered the "three-dimensional layered rights confirmation" model for offshore photovoltaic waters, exploring the combination of photovoltaic power generation and fish farming. This pile group structure not only enhances the ability to resist typhoons, but also provides more favorable conditions for achieving "power generation above and fish farming below" and promoting the transformation of sea area use from two-dimensional to three-dimensional. Liao Jianxin, Party Secretary and General Manager of the Fujian Branch of the Three Gorges Group, said: "In the future, the Dongshan Offshore Photovoltaic Project will do a good job in the 'sea' article, help rural revitalization, explore the combination of photovoltaic power generation and fish farming, achieve 'power generation above and fish farming below', and explore the transformation of sea area use from two-dimensional to three-dimensional."
